The Mission of MÁV Co.

The mission of MÁV Co. and the primary aim of its operation are to create a legal, economic, financial and infrastructural environment for the members of MÁV Group, based on which the members of the group can carry out their operations by providing modern and competitive services in order to satisfy customer needs. Besides improving the quality of the services, assuring the transparency, efficiency and verifiability of the management of the group is also an outstandingly important task.

Meeting the expectations of passengers and customers is of high priority when developing and improving the services of MÁV. In favour of this, MÁV continuously strives to improve the level of services of passenger transport, which already has visible results. Acquiring new, modern railway cars and putting them into service, creating the railway link to Ferihegy Airport, continuous development of tracks and other investments in infrastructure development all contribute to passengers choosing the railway out of the possible alternatives of transport.

Railway is going to radically renew in the coming years. MÁV will obtain resources, partly with the help of the EU, which make it possible for the passengers of the railway company to travel on trains that are truly of the quality of the 21st century, high quality railway to travel on, which is common in more developed EU countries. In the Transportation Operative Program (TOP) of 2007-2013, HUF 753 billion is available for the implementation of railway projects. From the own resources of MÁV, it intends to spend a further HUF 197 billion on development during this period.
